This video quickly demonstrates how to twine a cedar mat--I personally use mine as coasters!
When beginning, bring each end of the twine together, and loop it around one of the middle strands of cedar. Bring the twine down at an angle, similar to the letter L, and then cross over the other end of twine, briefly creating an X shape before bringing the overlying piece of twine underneath the next strip of cedar. Consequently, the underlying twine comes up over the next strip of cedar.
Simply continue to repeat this pattern, and you will be done twining your mat in no time!
Carefully watch how to twine the corners of your mat. The pattern remains the same, but it is easy to accidentally let the twin slip under the cedar here.
